Two Open Source 101 Events in Spring 2018
The team at All Things Open is happy to announce two Open Source 101 events will take place in spring of 2018.
The first will take place Saturday, February 17 on the campus of NC State University at The McKimmon Center. Six (6) tracks will be featured as well as 4 morning keynotes. In 2017, nearly 700 registered for the inaugural event. At least that many are expected in February.
The second spring event will take place Tuesday, April 17 in Columbia, SC at The University of South Carolina’s Alumni Center. Six (6) tracks will again be featured, along with 4 morning keynotes. The event is part of the Open Source South Carolina meetup series and 400-500 are expected.
The Call for Speakers for both events is now open through Friday, December 15. Anyone interested is encouraged to submit a talk as soon as possible as decisions will be made quickly. Registration is scheduled to open Tuesday, January 9.
Open Source 101 is a one-day conference designed to target and focus on the processes and tools foundational to open source, open tech, and the open web. The target audience includes existing technology professionals new to open source (perhaps coming from a proprietary environment), existing professionals already familiar with open source (perhaps needing a refresher), and students of all types wishing to learn foundational concepts from industry experts and thought leaders. It is intended as a compliment to the All Things Open conference taking place each October.
