Chris O’Donnell – Opensource Web Platform Serves Open Data for Large Federal Government Agency- GAO (Intermediate)

Before Open Data was even a thing, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) was serving Congressional and government information to federal employees and the general public. With so much data to manage their site has become increasingly complex, and more difficult for users to find data.

In line with the Open Data initiative, and using Drupal an Open Source CMS platform, Promet worked with the GAO team to create an Architecture Plan that focuses on the user and drills down to the smallest elements of data. This results in a simpler way to surface the data being searched, and significantly decreases the time spent foraging publicly available information.
