This talk offers a quick deep dive into the role of a Developer Advocate (DA) working in Open Source technology. It kicks off with a high-level overview of who a Developer Advocate is to a project, what the role is responsible for on a tactical level, where the role fits in within the product life cycle, why the role is important, and how it makes sense for open source. In the end, we hope to offer a new perspective for open sourcing projects, and convey how developer advocacy is important both formally and informally for the open source community.
