Round Three: 22 More Speakers Announced for ATO 2016

All Things Open is proud to announce 22 more world-class speakers are joining the lineup. Content is always the most important aspect of any event and these experts will ensure this year’s event is the best ever.

The speakers include:

Jeremy King – CTO & SVP, Walmart Labs. Jeremy has been at the forefront of cloud computing for more than 20 years. His focus has been on highly available and scalable web technologies, engineering methodology and productivity, and developing SaaS technology platforms and presentation layer frameworks to support global e-commerce operations.

Kent Dodds – Javascript Engineer, PayPal. Kent is the host of JavaScript Air, the live video broadcast podcast about Javascript and the web platform and co-host of React30, a 30 minute podcast about React. He’s also an Egghead.io instructor and Google Developer Expert.

Jen Looper – Developer Advocate, Telerik. Jen has 13 years’ experience as a web and mobile developer, specializing in creating cross-platform educational and fitness-oriented mobile apps.

Rommel Garcia – Senior Solutions Engineer/Global SME Security Lead, Hortonworks Inc. Rommel is a nationally recognized speaker at Hadoop and Big data conferences and is the author of Virtualizing Hadoop – How to Install, Deploy and Optimize Hadoop in a Virtualized Environment.

Laura Hilliger – Greenpeace. Laura taught at UC Berkley’s Graduate School of Journalism, was the lead mentor at the Bay Area Video Coalitions Producer’s Institute, developed curriculum for Adobe, and spent 5.5 years at Mozilla where she advocated for an open web and helped spread web literacy. She’s now an Ambassador for Opensource.com and works at Greenpeace.

Andrew Spyker – Senior Software Engineer, Netflix. Andrew has worked on the Cloud Platform team at Netflix for two years where he has helped with not only performance but also architecture, open source, and container strategy. As part of the open source work, he created the ZeroToDocker approach to help with evaluation of Netflix open source technologies. More recently he’s been leading the container cloud initiative (Project Titus).

DeLisa Alexander – Executive VP and Chief People Officer, Red Hat. DeLisa serves as the executive vice president and chief people officer of Red Hat, leading the organization responsible for global human resources including Red Hat University. During her tenure, Red Hat has grown from 1,100 to 8,000+ associates and has been recognized as one of the best places to work in multiple publications around the globe.

Rebecca Fernandez – Principle Employment Branding + Communications Specialist, Red Hat. She is a writer and a leadership development coach with a passion for cultivating and sustaining great company cultures. Rebecca is the program manager, maintainer, and evangelist for the Open Decision Framework, a collection of Red Hat’s best practices for open, collaborative, and inclusive decision making. She’s a regular contributor to Opensource.com and an ambassador for The Open Organization book.

Simon MacDonald – Senior Software Scientist, Adobe. Simon has more than 20 years of development experience and is currently contributing to the open source PhoneGap project.

Craig Vitter – Solutions Architect, Basho Technologies. Craig has been designing and building data driven applications for more than 20 years and currently works with customers looking to build on top of Riak KV and Riak TS. He regularly speaks at meetups and conferences around the country.

Emily Kurze – Marketing Programs Manager, Linux Foundation. Emily is a long time technical marketing expert working in the areas of Linux certification, consumer electronics, educational robotics and SCADA software.

Amy Gebhardt – Software Developer, Wand. Amy is a Minneapolis-based Web Application Developer with a history of hybrid front-end and back-end roles. She’s an expert in a variety of languages from C# to PHP to CSS to JavaScript. She regularly speaks at tech events all over the Midwest and teaches Girl Develop IT classes.

Blaine Carter – Open Source Developer Advocate, Oracle. He’s been programing since 1995, has worked with a wide variety of tools and technologies, and now promotes open source inside and outside of Oracle.

William Lyon – Developer Relations Engineer, Neo4j. As a software developer he works primarily on integrating Neo4j with other technologies and helping developers build applications with Neo4j.

Heather Shapiro – Technical Evangelist, Microsoft. Heather works in Microsoft’s Developer Experience group where she educates developers on Microsoft’s new technologies. She works closely with students and developer communities across the northeast to understand the newest and latest technologies and architectures.

Ann Marie Fred – Software Engineering Manager, IBM. She’s worked as a software engineer for nearly 20 years and speaks at major technology events all over the country.

Phillip Rhodes – Founder/CEO, Fogbeam Labs. Phillip is a long time software developer and open source contributor and has been working with Linux and open source since 1996.

Mark Gisi – Director, IP & Open Source @ WindRiver. Mark is responsible for managing open source programs, policies and programs. He’s a key contributor to the Linux Foundation’s SPDX and OpenChain projects.

Ryan Lewis – Senior Software Engineer, Expedia. Ryan is a Pluralsight author that has been specializing in web technologies for more than 15 years.

Kevin Ball – Lead Engineer, ZURB. He has co-founded and acted as CTO of two companies, founded the SAn Diego javascript meetup, is a regular presenter at local tech meetups, and currently leads the tools group at ZURB.

Jessica Mauerhan – Senior Test Engineer, Grovo. She enjoys mentoring fellow engineers in automated testing, test driven development, and quality code. She’s been working as an engineer using various technologies since 2004.

Péter Czanik – Systems Engineer/Community Manager @ BalaBit, the company behind the syslog-ng logging daemon. He helps distributions to maintain the syslog-ng package, follows bug trackers, helps syslog-ng users, and speaks regularly at conferences.
