Join us Thursday, January 11 for the first Meetup of 2018!
We’re excited to start 2018 in the best way we know how – by hosting an amazing open source meetup with two world-class speakers!
The meeting will take place in the Cannon Room at the brand new HQ Capital Club location overlooking downtown Raleigh. Doors will open at 6:00 and programming will begin at 6:30 pm ET sharp.
We’re really pleased to be featuring two truly top-notch speakers and topics as well, both of which should be of tremendous interest to attendees.
1. What Every Software Engineer Should Know About Security and Encryption
Miki Rezentes, Tanium
Miki Rezentes works as a software engineer for Tanium. Her years as a software engineer were preceded by many years of teaching upper level math. She loves solving problems and learning new languages. She enjoys mentoring and volunteers with Rails Bridge. One past coworker lovingly described her as, “supreme product expert and resident smartass.” She has confidence that her coworkers agree with at least half that statement. Her work on R2D2 made her the go to person for encryption on her team. On day, she hopes to acquire a little Orphan Annie decoder Ring.
2. Automation & Ansible
Greg Dekoenigsberg, Ansible
Greg DeKoenigsberg is the Director of Ansible Community for Red Hat, where he leads the Ansible project’s relationship with the broader open source community. He has nearly two decades of leadership experience in open source communities and companies. He has served as the Fedora Project leader for Red Hat, VP Community and Product for open source cloud pioneers Eucalyptus Systems, and VP of Community for Ansible, Inc. Greg lives in Durham NC.
In addition to presentations, the All Things Open team will be making major 2018 announcements and giving away a lot of awesome swag.
