Different Days of the Week, Even Better World-Class Content
If you’ve attended past All Things Open conferences, you’ll notice something is different this year. There are actually a lot of things different, but primary among them, and the one we’ve been asked about the most, is why we have moved from mid-week (Wednesday and Thursday) to a Monday/Tuesday.
Well, allow us to explain…
Since the very first year of the event, we have been fortunate to host some of the most well known experts in the world. Not just the country, but the world. Many of these people live in places other than Raleigh/Cary/the RTP and have to travel long distances to attend and participate.
For the first two years many agreed to spend the 3-4 days required. Meaning, if they attended for one day they have often spent a day traveling to ATO and a day traveling back. If they spent both days with us they many times in fact spent 4 – a day traveling to ATO, two days at the conference, and a day traveling back.
By hosting the conference on Monday/Tuesday we are making it easier on our out-of-area (OoA) speakers and attendees, requiring them to spend less time away from home during the business week.
While it may not be a perfect solution for everyone, we believe OoA partners will appreciate it, and that it will result in even better quality speakers and content. And in the end, that’s what is most important to us.
Always has been. Always will be.
