All Things Open to hold first ever “Open” Pitch Competition
All Things Open will host its first ever “Open” Pitch Competition on the first day of the 2016 event, which is October 26.
The contest is open to software, hardware, and consulting/services-based companies that meet minimum criteria, which can be found on the “Open” Pitch Competition page.
Six (6) winning teams will be chosen to deliver 4 minute pitches (and 4 minutes of Q&A) to a panel of founders, CEOs, and VCs. The pitch session will be in front of a live plenary audience. First, second, and third place winners will be identified at the conclusion of programming on the 26th.
The overall goal of the competition is three-fold:
- To heighten awareness around open technology in the start-up space
- To encourage more technologists and entrepreneurs to consider starting companies and creating technologies that are open
- To provide overall education on the topic of “open” and start-ups. The Start-Up track, which will include sessions on Wednesday the 26th, will feature “open” founders, CEOs and VCs and will provide a tremendous educational opportunity.
All Things Open 2016 will host more than 2,000 open source/open tech/open web technologists and decision makers from all over the United States and the world.
